2020 The Great Willamette Clean Up ~ Willamette River
This is not an OWA club trip, but an annual clean-up event that is hosted by the Willamette Riverkeeper's on the first Saturday of October. The annual Great Willamette River Clean Up is a river-wide, community day-of-action. Volunteers participate by canoe, kayak, raft, cat-boat, SUP board, motor boat, jet ski, drift boat, bike, and by foot to free our river of trash and debris, while improving habitat and community spirit along the way. Cleanup sites are posted throughout the basin, and the on-line registration for this event will open in September 2020. Several areas host post-cleanup celebrations that include lunch, local frothy beverages, and “trash-talk.”
This is a good way to give back to the rivers and waterways we all cherish. The sign-up, on-line registration will not be available until September 2020, a month before the event. This is a sectional clean-up from Eugene to the Willamette River mouth. You will be able to select the river sections that are being sponsored. A link to the registration site will be added to this page once it's opened. Below are two links that have additional event details.
