Subject: Food Prep, Storage and Clean-up on the River
Zach will talk about proper food storage and sanitation techniques for wilderness river trips. There are a handful of easy things that can be done to greatly reduce the risk of spreading germs throughout the group. Those of you who have been on a trip where everyone gets sick on the trip or after the trip already understand how importance hygiene and sanitation is for every member of a wilderness group.
Zach Collier is an avid whitewater boater and the owner of Northwest Rafting Company, an outfitter that offers multi-day river expeditions. He's guided whitewater rivers across the Western United States and in Costa Rica, Honduras, Chile, Bhutan, Nepal, and Siberia and has seen various levels of sanitation on trips. He's excited to share some things he's learned along to way about keeping your river expeditions happy and healthy. Zach also is the owner of Northwest Rafting Company a local outfitter specializing on international destinations as well as regional whitewater trips on the Rogue, Illinois, and Hood Rivers.
