The run is through a forested Canyon and ends near tidewater on the Alsea. this IS NOT the drift creek on the Siletz! While the whtewater is not particularly challenging there is the potential for log jams and portages. See trip reports for successful 2012 trip.
Alternate Trip:: Siletz River from Buck Creek to Moonshine Park. This section includes Silache Rapids, which we can scout on the way to the put in. Must have a minimum of 5 ft. on the gauge at Siletz. I would like to limit the trip to 5 boats. The Siletz is Class III/IV and the run takes about 2.5 hrs. It is suitable for rafts, cats, oars, paddles. I plan to camp the night before at Moonshine Park, the takeout.
