Trip Information: Join us for an OWA Board sponsored weekend of rafting on the scenic McKenzie River. The OWA has paid for only five reserved campsites at Paradise Campground near McKenzie Bridge for Thursday, June 24th thru 12 pm on Sunday, June 27th. The reserved campsites are camps #5, 6, 8, 9 and 10. They will be shared campsites with two vehicles per site. This is a car camping style outing and a fully self-supported event with each participate being responsible for their own meal arrangements.

Note: There are only five reserved sites, so contact the trip leader Brenda Bunce if your interested in reserving/sharing a campsite or for other general river trip inquires. You can also reserve your own site at Paradise Campground at your own cost or camp somewhere else and still join the group for the river float. Just keep Brenda Bunce informed of your plans.

You may also come on up just for a day run on either Friday or Saturday. Again, please keep Brenda informed of your plans.

                                                 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This is a beautiful and scenic Class II-III+ river with the following runnable river sections:
a) Olallie to Paradise, 9 miles. This is a beautiful section of river with numerous class II+ to III rapids. Fish Ladder the hardest rapid on this section is class III+ to IV-.
b) Paradise to Bruckert, 9 miles. The first few miles are of a continuous class II.
c) Frissell to Bruckert Bridge, 13 miles. Rapids are class II to II+ in nature.
                                                 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Due to these being individual site and parking being very limited, we will be looking at capping at 20 people or two vehicles per site. If we go over the cap per campsite at Paradise, folks can find or arrange their own campsite and meet us at the put-in.

                                                 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Other side attractions in the surrounding area:
* Belknap Hot Springs, approx. 2 to 2.5 miles East on Hwy 126 from Paradise Campground.
* McKenzie River Trail that parallels the length of the McKenzie River from the McKenzie River headwaters of Clear Lake to McKenzie Bridge.
* The impressive Sahalie Falls and Icecap Falls over-look and hiking loop between Clear Lake and Carmen    Reservoir.
                                                  ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
