Event Information: Boating 101: This is a basic skill building clinic for individuals with novice to intermediate boating experience. This is a good opportunity for club members and their family members who are interested in developing on their class II and class III river skills to attend this two-day clinic. Bring your boat, raft, catboat or jump into someone else's boat (Check with trip leader prior to arriving to make sure there is space for you in a boat). Both day's will be from Packsaddle Park to Fisherman's Bend (class II & III section). We will have a limit of 24 participants max and we need at least 6 experienced OWA members to help out with Boating 101. Individuals will need to have their own personal Coast Guard approved type III or V Life Jacket. Also required will be a Whitewater Helmet, Dry Suit (with appropriate thermal under garments) or a complete wet suit, appropriate River Shoes, Rescue Throw Rope and Safety Whistle. The OWA has several campsites reserved at John Neil Campground in Mehama, Oregon for this clinic on May 3rd through May 5th. Individuals will have to share camp sites with other members unless you'd like to pay for your own private campsite. Further updates will be added once event details have been finalized.
