NOTE: [This is not an OWA sponsored or supported river trip, but merely a Whitewater Event that's open to the public and boating community]. At this event, you'll find like-minded whitewater enthusiasts gather for a long weekend of competitive boating and socializing. 

BoatSmith is happening once again!

We’re bringing the boating community together on the Smith River this Presidents Day Weekend, February 13–16, 2026.

Expect the classics:

• Camping at Patrick Creek Campground

• Downriver whitewater races

• Friday night films/music

• Raffle, awards, and the Saturday night party

• Mass Float on Sunday

• And yes — Patrick Creek Lodge plans to be open and ready to welcome the river crew! 

The event and camping will take place at Panther Flat Campground. The campgound is a first come, first served and please be open to sharing sites. The rivers that will be concidered for this event are the Main Stem (Middle Fork) of the Smith River, Oregon Hole Gorge section of the Smith River, South Fork Smith River, South Fork Gorge and/or North Fork Smith River. The river class rating will range from class III to class V in Difficulty.
