Sketchbook from a July Rogue Trip

Rogue River Newspaper

Jason Urasky

This was a low-water July trip down the Rogue River with a crew of 11 adults, 6 kids, and a couch.

To capture the trip, we kept a sketchbook for each day. Everyone was encouraged to add whatever they wanted. Drawings, stories, observations, inside jokes, and questionable artistic interpretations of the day’s events. A little chaotic, occasionally hilarious, and a wonderful snapshot of our time together on the Rogue.

Once again, the Rogue (and the crew) provided an unforgettable summer adventure.

The couch survived the entire trip without serious injury... to itself or the kids. It was a jungle gym, wrestling arena, water-fight platform, lounge chair, and occasional flotation device. A true river veteran.
