Overview

• Bowline creates a fixed loop at the end of a rope
• A very strong knot but generally considered weaker than a Figure 8 loop 
• Quick knot to make a permanent loop
• Can be tied around an object
• Can be used to join 2 ropes together, to pass a haul line out to a boat etc.
