Presidents Corner
April
By Brenda Bunce
Hello Fellow Paddlers!
As the seasons change and the rivers flow, our commitment to river safety remains unwavering. I’m thrilled to share my enthusiasm for the upcoming Swift water rescue training on April 26th and 27th. This in depth and very comprehensive training will give any level of boater the confidence needed to engage in things like boat anchor rigging, foot entrapment, and eddy swimming, just to name a few.
This invaluable 2 1/2 day training is largely supported from funds from our annual Auction that offsets some of the cost. The auction started April 1st and ends April 15th. Please support our vendors and take part. Perhaps you’ll come away with a discounted shuttle, a boat repair coupon, or some pretty cool river gear.
I also want to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who contributed to our February pool training session- it was a tremendous success! A special shoutout to the dedicated volunteers who generously gave their time to lead this vital boating skills class. Your hard work and commitment truly make a difference and I know the participants gained good confidence and skills.
Get involved: We’re always looking for passionate members to help out with planning, training
and leading trips. If you’re interested in volunteering or leading a trip, let us know!
We have an amazing lineup of trips, and community events throughout the year. Keep an eye on the calendar and join the fun.
Our club is more than just rafting- it’s a family brought together by a love for the river. Thank you for being part of this journey. Until next time, keep paddling forward!
