President's Corner: March

March

brenda-and-moe-curly.jpgHello, fellow rafters!

I'm thrilled to kick off this edition of my first President's corner, in more than a decade, since I last volunteered on the board in 2010. As our amazing out-going president, Scott Harvey, laid out so well in the last edition, we have a fabulous board that works so very hard to keep this club vibrant, informed and active. I am excited for everything we have ahead of us this year and hope to continue to see our monthly club meetings well attended and more volunteers willing to step up and serve, lead trips, and share ideas to help keep this club flowing smoothly.

Whether you're a seasoned paddler or someone just getting their feet wet, our club is dedicated towards supporting new people to learn rivers, develop all of our safety skills share camaraderie on the rivers we love so much.

As we head into this year, my goal is to continue to help build a river community where everyone feels welcome- on and off the water. We have some fantastic river trips and river safety courses on the calendar. Be sure to refer to it often, as we update it and add more events to it throughout the year. I hope to see everyone at the Clackamas Aquatic Pool coming up on March 12th at 7:00 p.m.. It's the perfect chance to beef up your river rescue skills. Whether you want to sharpen your throw-bag technique or practice re-flipping your boat, this event is a must!

See you on the water!
