Hello, fellow rafters!

 

As my year as interim president comes to a close, I want to say how much of an honor it’s been to serve alongside such an incredible team of board members. Their dedication, creativity, and passion made this role a joy, and I’m grateful for the chance to have helped serve the club through this year. Our community also thrives through classic traditions like our New Year’s Day Paddle on the Sandy River, from Dodge to Oxbow. Each year, Team River Runner joins us, guiding veterans down the river and sharing a potluck at the take-out. It’s a meaningful, joyful way to start the year—don’t miss it! Check

We’re also proud to continue our support for American Whitewater, the organization dedicated to
protecting and restoring the rivers we love to paddle. OWA remains a committed partner to this exceptional nonprofit and its important work. 

We hope you’ll join us for our very FUN end-of-year celebration! It’s time for our Annual White Elephant Gift Exchange and our Ugly Sweater Contest—with categories for both kids and adults. Show off your most gloriously hideous holiday attire for a chance to win a gift card!  We’ll also be holding a special prize drawing to celebrate everyone who submitted a trip report or gave a club presentation this year. Thank you for sharing your river stories, camp recipes, and creative ideas — your contributions are what make this club such a great community.

And don’t forget to keep an eye out for ballots to vote in your next board members. Even better, consider
becoming one! We’re always excited to welcome new ideas, fresh energy, and enthusiastic paddlers to the team.
