Biography
Joe Squire, a Las Vegas, Nevada native and a licensed Professional Civil Engineer; earned a Bachelor's degree in Geology and a Master's degree in Hydrogeology from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
Joe started his career in the mining industry where he was responsible for heavy earth moving operations and production. Subsequent to mining, he joined major Nevada utility as an environmental manager. Later, his career took him into environmental, geotechnical, and materials consulting in Nevada and Idaho.
Joe joined ODOT in 2002 where he has served in a various design and construction roles. Since May 2014, Joe has served as the State Construction & Materials Engineer. In September 2020, Joe was requested to lead and manage the Contracts for the Oregon Wildfire Recovery Operations. Joe will remain with the recovery operations until the project is complete.
Joe has greatly enjoyed leading numerous canoe-camping trips below Hoover Dam, canoeing/camping the Boundary Waters Canoe Wilderness in northern Minnesota, and rafting the Rogue and Umpqua Rivers.
